Education is 2019 Tax Deductible

The tax season is around the corner. Many of you (the early birds) may be working on your 2019 tax returns today.

Is education/training a tax-deductible in 2019? What are today’s benefits? When it comes to work-related education expenses the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) states that,

“You may be able to deduct work-related education expenses paid during the year. Your expenses must be for education that (1) maintains or improves your job skills or (2) a law requires to keep your status or occupation”.

The majority of you out there are in need to become Avid Pro Tools Certified Operators and Experts, either in music or audio post, or both, to become more efficient and effective in the workforce. Being a worker’s union may qualify you to get financial aid from your labor unions.
