About Chilitos
In 1993, Jose “Chilitos” Valenzuela founded AudioGraph International with a dream in his mind, more than 25 years later that dream is still alive!
“Chilitos”, as everyone who knows him well calls him, specializes in music production, audio for video post-production, and mastering, in addition to being an acclaimed audio professional and author of numerous instructional publications, offers classes taught in both English and Spanish at this Los Angeles’ premiere AVID authorized Pro Tools training facility. Valenzuela is a frequent contributor to the Spanish versions of Guitar Player, GRAMMY Magazine, Músico Pro and Mix magazines.
Since 1993, Jose “Chilitos” Valenzuela, has been paving the path and opening doors for young aspiring engineers/producers for over 25 years. As the founder of AudioGraph International, the first and only bilingual Pro Audio Training Center in the US providing small-sized intimate certification courses at the lowest cost-effective prices, Chilitos has been one of the most low-key internationally sought after engineer/educator in the business. Not only has Chilitos helped place students in prestigious jobs around the industry, AudioGraph International is the only school that provides its students with the hands-on practice and real-world experience to take their training to the next level.
As Chilitos once said, “It was always my dream to create a place where musicians, engineers, producers, you name it, could come together under one roof where they could feel comfortable and have fun, which is not always the case in most places in this industry.” For over 25 years, Chilitos has kept this dream alive, providing an incredibly fun and unique atmosphere for his students.

José “Çhlitos” Valenzuela was born in Tijuana, Mexico.

Chilitos was in the “Niños Cantores de Tijuana” choir when he
was 11 years old, as a Tenor voice.

He began to like music and audio as a kid when his choir went to a recoding studio to record an EP.

He started his first Rock Band at the age of 14 years old.

A graduate in Electronics from the Instituto Tecnológico Regional No.21 de Baja California (ITR No. 21), Tijuana, Mexico.

Move to Los Angeles, California to continue his studies.

A graduated of the California State University, Dominguez Hills in 1983 in Carson, California where he received his BA degree in Electronic Music and Recording Engineering Major and a Computer Science Minor.

Worked as an Audio Technician at the ABC Network Television during the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Worked as an audio engineer for the Elton John, Whitney Houston, and the Go-Go’s world tours.

In 1993, Chilitos founded AudioGraph International (AGI), an Entertainment Technology Company, where musicians, engineers, producers, editors, students, etc., from all over the world, come to AGI to trained and update their knowledge in the newest audio tools and techniques in the audio and music industries.

In 1994, Chilitos worked as a Sound Effects Designer for the feature film “Star Trek: Generations” under the guidance of composer Dennis McCarthy.

Worked as a sequencing programmer and mixing engineer for Argentinean composer/artist Alejandro Lerner.

1997 -1999 launched “Chilitos and Friends”; International Audio Conferences in his home-land Tijuana-Mexico. The highlight of these conferences was to perform a live Pro Tools recording session via ISDN in real time from the stage in Tijuana, México to Barcelona, Spain, which was successfully completed.

Author of the first Spanish MIDI book (Descubriendo MIDI), Spanish Digital Audio book (Audio Digital, Conceptos Básicos y Aplicaciones), a Spanish Illustrated Electronic Music Dictionary, he also wrote The Complete Pro Tools Handbook, The Complete Pro Tools Shortcuts Handbook (first and second editions), The Complete Guide to Connecting Audio, Video, and MIDI Equipment, all these books were published in English and Spanish by Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation.

With respect to his distinguished recording/mixing engineering skills, Chilitos has worked with Keith Emerson (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), John Waite (The Babys and Bad English), Tony Kanal (No Doubt) Colin Hay (Man At Work), Bobby Fernandez (Film Mixer), Michael Sembello and singer/songwriter James Grey.

In 2016 Chilitos Produced the “Chilitos & Friends Professional Audio Conference in Tijuana, Mexico, and developing two new artists in Los Angeles, CA.

In 2019 Chilitos is still very active Mixing Music and Film, programming synthesizers for the Music Industry and creating Sound Effects for Film, Video Games, and TV. Currently, he is writing his next book, creating new Audio Education Technological tools for the new generation of audio engineers and aspiring young people wanting to enter in this exciting world of music, audio, and video.
